A WGEA study has shown that women constitute 38.4% of all full-time employees and 68.5% of all part-time employees. Aside from this obvious gap in workforce strength, there is a pattern in the kinds of unconscious bias that women face in the workplace.

• Women are often forced to “prove themselves” at work, showing better results with very little room for failure.
• Women must walk a tightrope to ensure they don’t come off as too “feminine” (aka weak or fragile) or too “forceful” (aka rude or dominating).
• Even in 2022, women at work are still subject to sexual harassment, objectification, pay gaps, and cliched biases.

Women are constantly battling these biases and still doing their best to push through and emerge successful. One the occasion of International Women’s Day, 2022, IWD launched the #BreakTheBias campaign to spread awareness around these challenges. In this spirit, our fellow ansrsource team members share their stories and vow to #BreakTheBias.

Biases have often cropped up at a young age when educational opportunities are taken away from young girls even though they are intelligent. These stereotypes exist even to this day!
